CSE PTA Kids Club Policies and Disclaimers

Kids Clubs is the PTA-sponsored after-school program at CSE. It is organized by CSE parents just like you. The safety and privacy of our students are of the utmost important to us. To make Kids Club a fun and safe experience, we ask you to keep a few things in mind.

Medical concerns

Please be mindful of physical conditions that may prevent your child from fully participating in a chosen club. Students must be able to attend clubs independently. No school nurse will be on duty.

Public health policies

Kids Club follows and strictly enforces the AHSD health and safety plan.

Please keep in mind that the PTA is a non-profit, private organization and that participating in PTA-run activities is voluntary. By registering your child or children for Kids Club, you agree to abide by all Kids Club policies.

Emergency contacts

In the event a parent/guardian cannot be reached, we will call your provided emergency contacts. People listed should be individuals who can: 1) pick up your child if your child is ill; and/or 2) give advice/permissions about caring for your child.

Emergency care

If my child’s emergency contacts cannot be reached in an emergency, I authorize CSE Kids Club volunteers and instructors to obtain emergency medical care for my child while under the CSE Kids Club care, including transporting or sending my child to an available hospital or physician.

Student information

CSE teachers, staff, Kids Clubs volunteers, and Kids Club instructors may share club-enrolled student attendance information on club days as well as other student information necessary to organize and run Kids Club.

Admission

Each student must be enrolled in the after-school program by a parent or legal guardian. The fee for the CSE Kids Club is usually $7 per club hour. A parent/guardian must enroll the student using the Kids Club website, pta.clarkssummit.us/kidsclub/.

The registration form and Kids Club fees must be submitted in order for a student to be enrolled. The program is first come, first serve. Once the class is full, no new registrations will be accepted. After completing registration, payments are due in full. Refunds can only be given if a club cannot be held.

Attendance

Daily attendance will be taken during the classes and activities. All students are to attend all classes regularly and promptly for which they are scheduled. If a student is going to be absent from the after school program, the parent/guardian is asked to notify Kids Club and the school through the Kids Club website or by contacting the school or the child’s teacher directly.

Discipline

The purpose of a discipline policy is to facilitate a positive after-school climate. Our clubs should be places where students feel safe and secure, parents are kept informed of their child’s behavior and are encouraged to support the Kids Club instructors’ and volunteers’ decisions, and all students are provided with opportunities to grow in personal and social development.

During Kids Club, students are expected to follow the same behavioral rules and guidelines as outlined in the Abington Heights School District Elementary Student Handbook. This includes, but is not limited to, the sections on expected student conduct and the prohibition of all forms of bullying and harassment, including physical, verbal, emotional and/or cyber bullying and harassment.

Students who fail to meet these expectations may, depending on the nature and severity of the disciplinary issue, be asked to sit out the remainder of the current club day, be suspended from the after-school program for one or several weeks, or not be allowed to re-enroll in future PTA-run after-school programs. Parents can appeal any disciplinary decisions to the PTA Board.

Pick-up policy

The CSE Kids Club program will run from 3pm-4pm. Parents are asked to promptly pick up their child at 4:00 pm at the rear entrance of the school off Knapp Road.

Please park your car and wait near door #5. Children will be dismissed (by club) through door #6.

Please keep in mind that Kids Club is facilitated by volunteer parents who have time commitments after Kids Club hours. Prompt pickup at 4:00 is therefore crucial. After 2 late pickup violations, we will ask that your child(ren) not attend the next CSE Kids Club session offered.

Medication policy

A parent or guardian will be called to pick up a child who is sick or injured. Medicine will not be administered without written permission from the parent/guardian.

Photos and videos

We may occasionally take photos or video of club activities and share them on our website with parents of enrolled students and parents of prosepective students, to show what Kids Club is all about, as well as with local media. We will not publish students’ identities without your permission. Please email us if you’d like to opt out.
